Square Enix unveiled Ascend the Shinra Tower, a new Final Fantasy VII board game, which will hit stores in January 2027.

Ascend the Shinra Tower, co-developed by Arclight, Inc., is a cooperative balancing board game featuring characters from Final Fantasy VII.  Players will be tasked with working together to make their way up Shinra Tower by strategically stacking floor and wall tiles, then balancing character meeples on the tower.  Along the way, enemies will try to hinder Cloud and his allies, and the final boss challenge pits Cloud against his nemesis Sephiroth.

This game is for one to five players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 15 to 30 minutes.  It will retail for $34.99.

Square Enix will release Blissful Eternity, a booster set for Final Fantasy TCG, into retail (see “‘Blissful Eternity’“).
