Hachette Boardgames is bringing Super Meeple’s card-drafting and tableau-building game Mythologies to the U.S., with release set for July 22.

In Mythologies, players attract entities drawn from different mythological traditions around the world, combining their abilities so they can complete divine trials.  The entities are selected using a card-drafting mechanic and once acquired are added to the player’s tableau grid, sometimes requiring that earlier cards be sacrificed to get the best benefit.  Cards in the tableau are then used for managing resources and triggering abilities and combos.  The various mythological traditions feature asymmetric abilities, allowing for 70 different starting combinations for maximum variability of play.  The game is designed for quick-playing turns and mechanics suitable both for family play and experienced strategy gamers

Mythologies includes 192 cards, 130 tokens, 13 wooden pieces, eight mythology boards, four pantheon boards, and eight tuck boxes to organize components.  The game is intended for two to four players, ages ten and up, and plays in around half an hour.  MSRP has not been announced as of this writing.  It was created by Maxime Babad (Saint Seiya: Deckbuilding) and Mickael “Froh” Garcin, and features artwork by Arthur Boccard.

Hachette has also announced an expansion for the mythology-themed Cyclades (see “Hachette Expands ‘Akropolis’ and ‘Cyclades’”).
