Hollywood producers are in the middle of spooky season, and they’ve just scared up some fresh news. Time for a round-up!

Jim Carrey is currently in talks with Warner Bros. to star in The Jetsons live-action movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter The project, based on the 1962 Hanna-Barbera cartoon series (see “The Jetsons“), currently has Colin Trevorrow attached to direct; Trevorrow and Joe Epstein are in talks to write the script.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment have greenlit a sequel to A Minecraft Movie, according to Variety This movie will hit on July 23, 2027, roughly two years after the first smash-hit movie (see “‘A Minecraft Movie’ Boffo“).

Paramount+ released a new trailer for Starfleet Academy (see below).  This series stars Sandro Rosta, Karim Diane, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, Zoe Steiner, and Holly Hunter with Paul Giamatti and Gina Yashere as recurring guest stars (see “‘Starfleet Academy’“).  It begins streaming on January 15, 2026.

HBO Max revealed a new trailer for Fionna and Cake Season 2 (see below).  The second season of this Adventure Time spinoff series (see “‘Fionna and Cake’ Trailer“) begins streaming on October 23, 2025.

Amazon Prime released a new trailer for Bat-Fam (see below).  This original animated series hits streaming on November 10, 2025.  Warner Bros. Animation recently announced another Batman animated project revolving around the Knightfall comics story arc (see “‘Batman: Knightfall’“).

Roye Okupe is developing a new animated feature, according to Deadline The new project will be an animated adaptation of his graphic novel Malika: Warrior Queen, which is about a queen whose kingdom divides when she inherits the crown and she expands her domain into one of the largest empires in West Africa (see “Dark Horse“).Source: ICV2
