DC has announced that Batman #1, the first issue of the retooled series by Eisner Award-winning writer Matt Fraction and artist Jorge Jiménez, has sold over 500,000 copies. The series ushers in a new look for Batman, a new Batmobile, and new characters, and each issue is self-contained but also builds up to a larger story. The first issue was released on September 3, 2025.

DC launched the first issue with multiple variant covers, a blind-bag program, and a Giant-Size Special Edition (see “New ‘Batman’ #1”). They are now going for a second printing, which will hit retail on October 15. The main cover for the new printing will be the same as Jiménez’s original but with a recolored Batman logo, and there will be two new variants, an open-to-order cardstock variant by Jiménez and Tomeu Morey and a new cover by Dan Mora that will be available in both cardstock and foil versions.
