In a distant galaxy, where energy is drawn from the blood of colossal space-beasts known as Molok, young Ishmaeel finds himself aboard the cursed starship Pekuod. Bound by fate to Quee-Keg, a fierce alien warrior with a haunted past, he is thrust into a hunt led by the relentless Captain Akhabb—whose obsession with the legendary Pale Molok threatens to doom them all.
