Two of Marvel Comics’ top antiheroes will clash fact-to-face in the four-part Big Guns crossover, which will run in Wade Wilson: Deadpool #8 and #9 and Punisher #8 and #9, kicking off in September and running through October 2026. The story starts with Deadpool taking on a high-stakes assignment and Punisher pushing back, which soon explodes into a bloody, bullet-filled brawl. Benjamin Percy, the writer for both series, is also writing the full crossover, with Geoff Shaw handling art and main covers for the Deadpool issues and José Luis Soares doing the interiors and David Marquez the main covers for Punisher. All four will also have connecting variant covers by Josemaria Casanovas. The series kicks off with Wade Wilson: Deadpool #8, which goes on sale on September 2, and Punisher #8, slated for September 9, both of which also have crossover logo variant covers.
“When you’re writing The Punisher, and you’re writing Deadpool—two street-level characters with opposite personalities—the math works itself out,” Percy said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I had to bring them together. Violently. Get ready for non-stop mayhem, the re-invention (and glow-up) of a classic villain, and the introduction of the Merc-mobile… as well as a new weapon that will change the 616 forever.”
The inter-company crossover Marvel/DC: Deadpool/Batman #1 was the top-selling single-issue comic of 2025 (see “Marvel to Publish Collection of 2025 and 2026 Marvel/DC Crossovers”).
