New-Reader-Friendly Line Includes Transformers, G.I. Joe Characters
Skybound Visions is a new imprint for standalone, new-reader-friendly limited series, including characters from Transformers and G.I. Joe.
The new line from Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics, in collaboration with Hasbro and Universal, will star fan-favorite icons in stories intended to be jumping-on points, with complete stories from known creators.
The first miniseries is Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet, coming January 27, 2027, followed by G.I. Joe: The Island of Dr. Mindbender in February and Turok: Son of Stone in March. All will have variant covers available.
Transformers: Bumblebee – Lost Planet is by writer Tate Brombal and artist Matt Emmons, colorist Giovanna Niro, and letterer Becca Carey. Beloved Autobot Bumblebee is stranded on an unknown planet that wants to kill him and hunted by a deadly Decepticon.
G.I. Joe: The Island of Dr. Mindbender is written by Karl Kerschl with art by Doug Mahnke, inker Jaime Mendoza, colorist David Baron, and letterer Tom Napolitano and will be out February 2, 2027. Codename: Flint visits a mad scientist’s island with a new group of recruits to rescue a missing team of Joes while facing down monstrous creations in a story described as “chaos and horror.”
Turok: Son of Stone, out March 10, 2027, returns the Gold Key character in a story written by Stephen Graham Jones. Art is by Leandro Fernández, colorist Lee Loughridge, and letterer Tom Napolitano. Turok falls through an archaeological dig site to a valley of dinosaurs.
Said SVP Sean Mackiewicz, “Skybound Visions pairs beloved comic book characters with the most interesting comic book creators working today, to present their personal takes on these fan-favorites. Visions is all about surprising creators, surprising characters, and surprising storytelling.”
A Skybound Visions ashcan will be available in comic shops on November 11, 2026, with character designs and sneak peeks at all three series.
