The Murder Drones graphic novel is heading for retail. Based on the Glitch Productions animated series, the graphic novel was initially funded by a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1.75 million in pledges from over 21,000 backers, then was released as a six-issue series (see “Murder Drones Heads to Comic Shops“). Oni Press will release the 208-page paperback on December 1, 2026, with an MSRP of $24.99.
The eight-episode Australian webseries, written and directed by Liam Vickers and produced by Glitch Productions, ran from 2022-24 and was released on Amazon Prime in May 2025. The story is set in the far future, when humanity has gone extinct but its worker robots, known as drones, continue to mine the planet’s resources; the story features a moody teenage worker drone who forms an unlikely partnership with two disassembly drones who are sent to exterminate her and her fellow workers.
Another Glitch webseries, The Amazing Digital Circus, was adapted into a manga, which VIZ Media began publishing in September (see “Manga Adaptation“).
