The Pokémon Company International has announced that the Pokémon North America International Championships will move to Chicago in 2027, marking a new destination for one of the largest events in the Championship Series. The update was revealed alongside new details for PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, which will bring the season to a close in San Francisco. The announcements came as top competitors were crowned at the 2026 North America International Championships, securing major Championship Points and strengthening their positions ahead of the season finale. With Chicago set to host in 2027 and additional information now available for upcoming premier events, the road to the next World Championships is already taking shape.
The 2026 Pokémon North America International Championships recently concluded in New Orleans, crowning champions across Pokémon Video Game Championships, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE competition. Francesco Pio Pero claimed the Pokémon VGC Masters Division title, while Conner Pietrusinski and Damon Zhu captured the Senior and Junior Division championships. In the Pokémon TCG, James Kowalski won the Masters Division, David Boehmler took the Senior Division title and Luke Giffen emerged victorious in the Junior Division. PsyRhino secured the Pokémon GO championship, while ROOT Dignitas earned the Pokémon UNITE title, closing out one of the biggest events of the 2026 Pokémon Championship Series season ahead of the Pokémon World Championships.
