Lots of showbiz news came out around New York Comic Con over the weekend. Here’s the round-up!
Warner Bros. Animation will release a series of Batman: Knightfall animated movies. These movies, based on the epic Batman comics story arc (see “‘Batman: Knightfall’“), will head direct to digital and home video; Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall is expected in 2026.
X-Men 97 has been renewed for a third season, according to Variety, before the release of Season 2 in Summer 2026. The first 10-episode season, which dropped in 2024, was a big hit, and received an Emmy nomination in the Animated Program category (see “’X-Men 97’ Gets Emmy Nom“).
Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar has been tapped to write and direct a feature adaptation of Moomin for Annapurna, according to Variety. The property originated in novels and a comic strip by Finnish writer and artist Tov3 Jansson, whose work is currently published in English by Drawn U& Quarterly (see “D&Q Fall 2025“).
Amazon Prime Video released a trailer for Invincible Season 4 (see below). The fourth season will begin streaming in March 2026, and Amazon has already renewed the series for a fifth season (see “‘Invincible’ Renewed“).
Amazon Prime Video also released a trailer for Critical Role: The Mighty Nein (see below). This series was originally announced in January 2023 (see “‘Mighty Nein’ Show Teased“), and it will start its streaming run on November 19, 2025.
Marvel Studios revealed a Wonder Man teaser via their social media accounts (see below). Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was cast as the lead in this series (see “‘Wonder Man’“), and the series will hit Disney+ on January 27, 2026.
Paramount+ released a new trailer for Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 2 (see below). This series begin streaming in December 2026. Recently, IDW Publishing released a comic series that ties in to this streaming series (see “‘Tales of the TMNT’“).
HBO Max dropped a trailer for Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (see below). This spinoff, originally titled Tales of Dunk & Egg (see “Spinoff News“), will begin streaming on January 18, 2026.Source: ICV2
