To celebrate the summer season, The Pokémon Company is continuing to share special content:
Need an extra set of hands for the summer? These Pokémon are ready to get to help out!
Summer is a time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the warm weather. Between visits to beautiful beaches, sometimes there’s an odd job or two that needs to be done during the season, and it’s beneficial to have an extra set of hands around. Just as many hikers may take along a Geodude or Onix on the trail with them for support, we thought these Pokémon would be exceptional helpers at these summer jobs.

Pokémon: Pichu
Job: Lemonade Stand Attendant
Nothing says summer quite like a sip of cold, fresh-squeezed lemonade from a little wooden stand with a hand-painted sign. Pichu is our pick for this job—it’s got charm and cuteness in spades and a spark of energy to serve up lemonade all day long. With some help from Frost Rotom to keep things cool, we think Pichu would be unstoppable in its itty-bitty business venture.

Pokémon: Audino
Job: Babysitter
The feelers on Audino’s ears can help it understand someone’s physical condition and decipher how someone may be feeling, which can prove exceptionally useful when dealing with young Trainers who can’t always communicate their needs in words. Plus, as the Hearing Pokémon, Audino can detect the slightest hint of misbehavior, encouraging extra mindfulness while guardians are away.

Pokémon: Oranguru and Passimian
Job: Camp Counselors
Summer camps are a prime opportunity to learn something new, and who better to learn from than the Sage Pokémon and Teamwork Pokémon? Oranguru is a tough coach, and Passimian is a champion of working together. Perhaps a friendly rivalry will spark between the two!

Pokémon: Mow Rotom
Job: Lawnmower/Lawn Care Specialist
This one speaks for itself, but we’d be remiss not to mention it. Mow Rotom is a Rotom that has possessed a lawn mower. Careful, though—it may also mow down your flowers.

Pokémon: Toucannon
Job: Golf Caddy
A golf caddy can be more than muscle to carry your drivers and clubs—they can offer companionship and assistance. We think Toucannon would ace this job, especially after seeing how it helped Kahili score a hole in one in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon. Bringing along this little birdie on the course might prove wise if you’re hoping to get a low score on the course.

Pokémon: Alakazam
Job: Ice Cream Cart Scooper
Ice cream is the ultimate sweet treat to stave off the summer heat—and Alakazam’s got the spoons for the job! Want two scoops? Not a problem for Alakazam. Its psychic powers also allow it to foresee all things, including your ice cream order. Sprinkles, please!

Pokémon: Lapras
Job: Lifeguard
When we think of a lifeguard, we envision someone who surveys the sands of the beach, perched above the beachgoers in a tall chair or lifeguard tower. What if that lifeguard could watch the goings-on right from the water? One who didn’t need a tall chair at all? Enter Lapras, a strong swimmer with a long neck that can hold 5,000 passengers at once in its Gigantamax form! Swimmers in need of aid can be put at ease from a comfortable ride on its back.

Pokémon: Suicune
Job: Pool Technician
Known for its ability to purify fouled water, we think Suicune would easily master balancing the chemistry of a swimming pool. Purification would take mere moments with Suicune’s power, and it’ll dash off to its next client right away, leaving you to enjoy crystal-clear water.

Pokémon: Blastoise
Job: Car Wash Attendant
The pressurized water jets on Blastoise’s shell are sure to provide a deep clean, helping cars sparkle like new. That said, precision isn’t always Blastoise’s strong suit, so proceed with caution and leave the Blastoisinite at home.

Pokémon: Mr. Mime
Job: Carnival Performer
The clown-like Barrier Pokémon is masterful in the art of pantomime—in fact, it’s able to create objects out of thin air if its audience believes the performance well enough! Carnivals are bursting with oddities and unique experiences, and Mr. Mime would put on an unforgettable performance.
There are always more odd jobs to fill, but this is the end of our list. What summer job do you think your favorite Pokémon would do? Or would they be soaking up the summer sun on the beach? Whether working or resting, we hope you enjoy a summer full of fun!
