Wizards of the Coast revealed Secret Lair x Playstation Superdrop, for Magic: The Gathering, which will hit DTC preorder on October 27, 2025.

WotC, clearly unsatisfied with only launching a single Secret Lair Superdrop in Q4, has doubled down in 2025 with a Secret Lair x Playstation Superdrop. The Superdrop offers fans 14 more sets (7 foil and 7 non-foil), all revolving around Playstation IPs, such as The Last of Us, God of War, and more. The entire contents of each set have yet to be unveiled, but here are the names of the sets:

  • Secret Lair x The Last of Us Part I
  • Secret Lair x The Last of Us Part II
  • Secret Lair x  God of War: Greek
  • Secret Lair x God of War: Norse
  • Secret Lair x Uncharted
  • Secret Lair x Horizon: Into the Forbidden West
  • Secret Lair x Ghost of Tsushima

Each of these sets will come in non-foil for $39.99 and in rainbow foil for $49.99.

Q4 2025 now features an unusually large amount of Magic product, most of which is DTC. The Scare Superdrop has 20 drop sets (see “Threatens to Jump the Shark“), the Playstation Superdrop has 14 drop sets, and there are 2 Play-Doh drop sets out there (see “‘Play-Doh’ Drop Set“). That is a total of 36 drop sets being offered up in Q4, plus whatever Chaos Vault sets come up in the near future. In addition to all the drop sets, there are still the scheduled main releases. The Avatar: The Last Airbender set has eight main product SKUs (see “Product Line“), plus mass retailer SKUs, and WotC is releasing more Final Fantasy product in the form of Scene Boxes, Bundles, and a Commander Deck (see “Lineup“).

WotC has truly “flooded the box” for the 2025 holiday season in hopes of big returns. The big question is whether or not the average Magic fan has enough disposable income in 2025 to keep up with this onslaught of releases. Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ survey recently predicted that consumers will be spending 11% less on Christmas gifts this year (see “$34.99 is the New $29.99“), so it is questionable as to how much of this product will get absorbed by consumers as it hits the market.
