Mark Weiss, founder and president of ComicBooks For Kids (CB4K), announced a new affiliate program at the ComicsPRO meeting in February. He also announced that the annual awards program will be held at C2E2 this year.
Weiss said that while the details of the affiliate program are still being worked out, a number of retailers have already contacted him to pledge their support. “While we currently support 200 hospitals, our goal is to over time support 500 hospitals with the help of retailers, e-tailers and others across the country,” Weiss said.
The organization’s annual awards (see “ComicBooks For Kids Presents Annual Awards”), will be presented at a ceremony at C2E2, which will take place in Chicago the last weekend of April.
CB4K distributes comics to children in hospitals and cancer centers worldwide, and its sister organization, ComicBooks For Troops, does the same for members of the military.
