DC Marks 850th Issue of ‘Superman’ with Special Oversize Issue

Superman #7 is actually the 850th issue of the long-running series, and DC is marking the occasion with a special oversize issue written by Joshua Williamson, with art by Gleb Melnikov, Dan Jurgens, and others. The storyline will reveal the answer to a mystery that began in Superman #1 and will set up a major storyline for 2024. The 48-page issue will be released on October 17, 2023, with a main cover by Jamal Campbell, variant covers by Lee Bermejo, Frank Cho, David Nakayama, David Finch, and Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion, a 1:25 variant by Gerald Parel, a 1:50 variant by Christ Samnee, a 1:100 inks variant by Capullo and Glapion, and the Jim Lee Icons Series: Superman variant (which will be priced at $9.99).

DC relaunched Superman earlier this year with Williamson as writer and a new emphasis on pulp-style adventure stories (see “New ‘Superman’ Series Coming in 2023”).
