Papercutz will continue to publish Asterix volumes under its new owner Mad Cave (see “Mad Cave Studios Acquires Papercutz”), with a new volume, the fortieth, due out October 26, 2023.
Asterix #40 will feature a new writer, Fabcaro, replacing Jean-Yves Ferri, who’s taking a break to work on another project. Art will be by Didier Conrad, who’s been the regular Asterix artist on recent volumes.
Although untitled at this point, the publisher did release a page of art for the volume (see Gallery below)
Since Papercutz acquired the U.S. rights to Asterix in 2019 (see “Papercutz Gets ‘Asterix’”), it has published eight omnibus editions with new American English translations, and two new individual volumes, #38, The Chieftain’s Daughter, and #39, Asterix and the Griffin.
