Allplay announced Through the Mountains, a new board game by Reiner Knizia, which will be headed to Kickstarter for crowdfunding on October 27, 2026.
This board game is the sequel to Through the Desert, which was first released in 1998 (see “‘Through the Desert’“). In 2025, Allplay released a new printing of the game via Asmodee (see “‘Through the Desert’ into Retail“). Through the Mountains is a standalone sequel to the original game. In this game, people will build route through the mountains by carefully placing pieces and planning one step ahead. This abstract strategy game features artwork by Hien Le.
The game is for two to four players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 40 to 60 minutes.
