A ‘reasonable’ number of mods, but perhaps the most surprising stat of Baldur’s Gate 3 is just how many people used ‘Poo Scraper.’
Baldur’s Gate turns 3, and to celebrate, Larian Studios is once again taking a look at BG 3 by the numbers. From the sheer number of people hoarding camp supplies before their first Long Rest, to how many people fought the Netherbrain with everyone in their party absolutely blitzed on ale, it’s a celebration of all things BG3 right now. Let’s take a look.
Baldur’s Gate 3 By The Numbers – Shockingly Few People Used ‘Poo Scraper’ And Even Less Used ‘Nutbuster’
Alright, let’s get down to stats. Because with more than 13,000 mods uploaded, an impressive 500,000,000 mods have been downloaded across all platforms. Which means there are so many of you out there playing the game the way the developers really intended you to; by adding in stuff they never thought of, like making Gortash into Guy Fieri.
But it’s not just the sheer number and variety of mods downloaded that rule the order of the day. You can see how many “story NPCs” have met their fate at the hands of the player, with Zevlor of all people taking the lead – by a long shot. More than 12 million times, he’s died. Though it seems a fair number of that was to the Dark Urge.
Though Durge in general is responsible for killing Isobel the most, which is so strange to me. Wulbren Bongle is, of course, a frequent target for the wrath of Durge and rightfully so.
My favorite stat, though, is a shockingly small one. This is the sheer number of times people have used a pair of, uh, “common items” found in the Apothecary Cellar where everyone’s favorite Quasit familiar, Shovel, can be found.
Poo Scraper and Nutbuster are weapons, probably named by Shovel. One is a rusty dagger that has “been worse places” than the Abyss. The other is a rock, just a rock, but it’s been “named” by a claw. Apparently only 4 and 2 of you, respectively, have brought Act 3 enemies low with them. But what an ignominious end.
All this to say, the players of BG3 are a diverse bunch of weirdoes. And if you haven’t joined them, or maybe haven’t played in a while, it’s probably the perfect time to start a new playthrough.
