The new Warbond expansion combines the two franchises to create Imperial Managed Democracy – coming soon.

First revealed back in May, the Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond expansion is almost here, and today we got a deep dive look at just what it’s bringing to the Freedom-enjoying gamers everywhere. Just how are the worlds of 40k and Helldivers joining, you ask?

Inspired by one of the Astra Militarum’s most elite regiments – the Cadian Kasrkin – this deployment of advanced firearms, armor, patterns and more, has been recreated in honor of the valiant Helldivers who gave their lives in a heroic last stand to defend the peaceful world of Chara during the First Galactic War.

Now you have the opportunity to unleash a devastating new type of Freedom on the battlefield in their eternal memory. Dive in. Deploy out. Spread Managed Democracy all about.

A ton of stuff has been revealed, but here are some highlights…

The Weapons and Stratagems of Freedom

Two new armaments are here, along with a pair of stratagems and throwables simulating some of the meanest weapons at the disposal of the Astra Militarum.

R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle
The primary armament of the infamous Kasrkan of Cadi—I mean Chara- the hot-shot lasrifle is a perfect match for the defenders of Super Earth. Potent at close range but even more lethal at long range, it’s sure to be a favorite choice in this Warbond.

P/40-K Bolt Pistol
This sidearm packs a punch well above its class. Short-ranged but extremely destructive, it’s an iconic Warhammer weapon that is going to be right at home on the battlefields of Helldivers 2.

40-K Meltagun
A unique stratagem included in this expansion, the meltagun fires a short-range beam of staggering potency. Hotter than a sun, anything struck by this stratagem will be reduced to slag/quivering biomass/undemocratic slurry.

G/40-K Meltamine
Another example of the very rational and humane weaponry of the 41st millennium, the Meltamine is a brutal proximity-activated mine. It’s not so much a friendly-fire problem as a friendly area-denial tool. An area denied to your friends is certainly denied to the enemy as well, right? Right.

Armor and Cosmetics

A pair of new armor types are available as part of Castellan’s Creed, each representing a different take on the iconic Cadian shocktrooper’s uniform and armor. Both offer the same game benefit:

Armor Passive – True Grit
+20 weapon handling, +30% reload speed for support weapons

TG-8 Sharpshooter
A Medium Armor choice, this set is a homage to the basic trooper of the Astra Militarum. It’s nice to see one that isn’t part of several dozen you’ve spent weeks painting before an event.

TG-122 Demo-Trooper
The Heavy Armor option sees the classic Cadian uniform up-armored and ready to deal with over-pressure, or at least ready to contain the mess in a package that can be easily cleaned up by your comrades in arms.

Tons of new cosmetic options and titles are also included in this Warbond. New skins for vehicles, walkers, and a new title that reminds you that you’re Still Standing. Just like Cadia.

HELLDIVERS™ 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Legendary Warbond arrives on August 12th.

This is all very cool, but Valhallanes next time, okay?!
