Synapses Games will release Chimerium, a new board game, on January 19, 2027.

In Chimerium, by Eric Dubus and Olivier Melison, players take on the roles of magicians who are trying to save magic in a Victorian world threatened by industrialization.  To do so, they will need to manage their dice to study different species of Chimeras, acquire powerful Artifacts for their alchemy labs, and manage their resources to create new, unique Chimeras.  It is an engine-building game where players will need to anticipate their opponents’ moves to win majority battles and eventually, the game.

The game is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 to 60 minutes.  It will retail for $49.99.

Synapses Games also announced Compile: Main 3, a new standalone card game that is part of the Compile series (see “‘Compile: Main 3’“).
