Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME’s stunning new Legends Awaken cards are about to shake up the meta

The Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME is about to pass 11 million sales this November, after releasing just one set. There are no plans to slow down, though. October 30 brings Legends Awaken, with cards as legendary as the second set’s title.

We mean that quite literally, as this set introduces all-new Legendary Pals. These cards are so explosive, they must stand alone – only one copy of each named legendary can be played in your Base. Legendary Pals are pricey summons, but their extraordinary Power levels are worth investing in.

Case in point: Jetragon – Legendary Guardian Dragon, a flagship card from the new set. With 3 Strike and 1700 Power, Pals don’t get much tougher than this. And, as an SSP, they don’t get much rarer, either.

Legendaries have potent powers to back them up in battle, too. Jetragon, for example, exiles two Pals that cost 7 or greater from the Graveyard to give itself Vigilance. If both were Legendary Pals, Jetragon also Stands up to three Legendaries.

Add more Legendaries to your deck, and there’s immense potential for synergy. Jetragon pairs particularly well with Frostallion – Everlasting Rime, a Legendary Lucky Pal who continuously reduces the cost of your Pals by two.

Plus, at the end of your turn, Frostallion lets you draw until your hand has four cards. Card draw is one of the most crucial parts of a strong Palworld deck, so this is a Pal that deserves its Legendary title.

When combined, Frostallion and Jetragon are powerful additions to the best color and element in the meta. Blue and dragon decks dominate, and these Legendaries make them even more of a threat. They’re not the only archetype growing stronger, though.

Heck, this isn’t even the only Frostallion worth chasing. Frostallion Noct – Eternal Darkness gives purple decks a Legendary to play with. With 1500 Power, 3 Strike, and a continuous +500 Power to all your other Pals, this is an enticing pull for aggro players. Then, at the end of your turn, Frostallion Noct forces your opponent to discard down to four cards – brutal.

Beyond Legendaries, purple has plenty of other interesting new strategies. Just check out Selyne – Saya’s Moonlit Beacon. The Moonflower Clan leader makes her Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME debut, and she’s a game-changer for Graveyard-focused decks.

If you have 10 or more Nocturnal Pals in your Graveyard, Selyne – Saya’s Moonlit Beacon’s Soul cost drops from eight to three. Since the card also has Nocturnal, you can take some huge swings under cover of night.

This is just one example of Legends Awaken‘s new Tower Bosses, which feature formidable bosses and their signature Pals on a single card. With exciting new abilities, Tower Bosses are more than just an excuse to present canon character team-ups with all-new art (though the cards are stunning).

We see Saya again on cards like Saya’s Crescent Moon, an Event that gives a Pal -1000 Power or sends it to the graveyard if it’s Night. It’s an easy way to fuel that Moonlit Beacon, but not as easy as Zoe’s Gambit. This Event puts all Pals in the Graveyard in one deadly swoop. Both cards feature glossy, vibrant art of your favorite Bosses, so they’re as great on display as they are in play.

That’s a lot of firepower for purple, but Red is looking pretty hot, too. Orserk – Thunderclap Roar is one of the new set’s most striking cards – in more ways than one.

Part Dragon and part Electric, Orserk lets you spend two materials to activate one of three abilities. You can increase a Pal’s Power and Strike for the turn, deal 900 direct damage to a Pal, or Stand a Pal with a Soul cost of 3 or less.

Orserk itself is a 1400 Power Pal with 3 Strike, so it can hold its own on the front lines. Plus, decks like Machine Gun Control are more than able to provide the material this Pal needs to activate all three abilities in a turn. It’s a powerhouse that’d work just as well in a Blue/Red Dragon deck as one designed to counter it.

Also backing up Red is Flambelle – Feverish Tears. This Pal may only have 100 Power and 1 Strike, but you can rest the card to gain two materials. Its power lies not in attacking, but in setting up powerful combos for cards like Orserk. That’s fantastic value in the early turns of a match.

Cards like these make great collectibles, but they’ll also establish an all-new meta. After all, competitive players need at least 10 Legends Awaken cards in their deck to compete in November’s Release Tournament. For shop tournaments, the prize promo packs have 17 unique cards to win, and last season’s decks simply won’t cut it. The shop tournaments run ’til January – so don’t miss out.

We’ve covered just a few of the new cards in Legends Awaken here. If you want to check out more beauties worth chasing – and beasts worth building a deck around – you can see the full card list on the Palworld OFFICIAL CARD GAME website. You can also pre-order your Legends Awaken boosters from there, too!
