‘TCG Card Shop Simulator’ Offers Fans a Taste of the Hobby Retail Owner Experience
TCG Card Shop Simulator is now available on three new console platforms as of September 15, 2026.
For TCG fans and flippers who can’t get enough of managing the in and outflow of their own inventory, there is TCG Card Shop Simulator by the Malaysian developer O.P. Neon Games, which allows them to actually practice running a card shop online. This game was originally released via Early Access on Steam on September 15, 2024, and later as a game preview on Xbox Game Pass. Now, a 1.0 full release version has made its way to PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
In this game, players take on the challenge of running a local TCG shop as the owner. They will design their shop and then be tasked with hiring employees, managing finances, and building up the store. Players can, of course, build up their singles inventory by opening booster packs themselves and find rare cards to flip for big money or hold onto them for their personal collection.
They will also need to organize tournaments to bring customers in the door, but they will need to beware of the customers that bring a green cloud of odor in with them (and have deodorant and air purifiers on hand). Additionally, the game features negotiations with customers over prices of cards, and customers that will try to scam the player with overpriced cards in cracked slabs.
For anyone who has owned or currently owns an LGS dealing in TCGs, the fact that this game exists and that people have fun playing it possibly carries some level of irony. Running a hobby retail establishment is a very hard thing to do; there are nuances upon nuances to learn when it comes to actually running a successful one (see “Retail Inventory System“). Most TCG retailers more than likely have encountered an array of issues (customer, distribution, financial, and otherwise) that they had never dreamed of dealing with when they first opened their shops.
However, the most positive aspect of this game is that is does seem offer fans who are interested in the business a tutorial on the basics of running a TCG-focused shop as well as a few satirical warnings about the nature of customers. Perhaps these fans will one day decide to take the leap to IRL and become entrepreneurs themselves.
