Marvel Comics will collect Marvel Comics Presents in its entirety for the first time in a series of omnibus editions. Launched in 1988, in anticipation of Marvel’s 50th anniversary, the anthology series was initially published on a biweekly basis and featured a mix of standalone stories and serials by emerging and established creators, starring a variety of Marvel Universe heroes. It was canceled in 1995 but revived in 2007-2008 for a 12-issue run and again in 2019 for nine issues (see “‘Marvel Comics Presents’ and ‘Invaders’ Return”). The first volume of the omnibus will collect the first 25 issues of the series, including work by writers Chris Claremont, Steve Gerber, Doug Moench, Ann Nocenti, Don McGregor, Bob Harras, Howard Mackie, Al Milgrom, John Byrne, and Fabian Nicieza and artists John Buscema, Tom Sutton, Tom Grindberg, Rick Leonardi, Gene Colan, Ron Lim, Rich Buckler, Steve Ditko, Al Milgrom, Bob Layton, John Byrne, Mark Badger, and Dave Cockrum. The 936-page hardcover will go on sale on April 20, 2027, with an MSRP of $125 and two covers, a main cover by Walter Simonson and a direct market exclusive cover by Marshall Rogers.
Marvel Comics Presents was the original home for Barry Windsor-Smith’s “Weapon X,” which Dark Horse Comics is bringing back as an archival black and white edition (see “Dark Horse to Publish Wolverine Origin Story“).
