Ize Press will publish a print edition of Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid, by Yoonhee Na, a retelling of Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Little Mermaid” set in Korea in 1926, during the Japanese occupation. The manhwa won the 2021 Korean Content Grand Prize Presidential Award, and a live-action adaptation is under way. The complete story is currently available on the WEBTOON platform, where it has 13.4 million views and over 335,000 followers.
Ize Press also announced that it will publish a Spanish edition of the best-selling Solo Leveling graphic novels, novel, and audiobook. The manhwa and novel will be available only in the U.S. and Canada, while the audiobook will be available worldwide. In addition, Ize announced that it will publish the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok prose novel. Like the comic, which launched in July, the novel follows the adventures of Sooho Sung, the son of the original protagonist. Ize did not release any information about publication dates or prices for these new properties.
