Full Omnibus Will Include All Seven Volumes of Eisner Award-Winning Series, and More
Dark Horse Comics has announced that it will collect Paul Chadwick’s Concrete, which has been out of print for 20 years, in a series of omnibus volumes. Concrete Omnibus Vol. 1 will include the first two volumes, Depths and Heights, with a new introduction by Chadwick, who wrote and drew the series, and a selection of sketches. The 544-page paperback will go on sale on June 1, 2027, with an MSRP of $39.99.
The omnibus series will collect all seven volumes of the original series, the one-shot Three Uneasy Pieces, this year’s Stars Over Sand series, plus short stories, Dark Horse Presents stories, and materials from Chadwick’s archive.
Chadwick introduced the character of Concrete, a man with a normal brain but a body of stone, in Dark Horse Presents #1 in July 1986, then developed the series. Concrete won the Eisner Awards for Best Continuing Series and Best Black and White Series in 1988 and 1989, as well as Best New Series in 1988, and Chadwick won the Eisner for Best Writer/Artist in 1989.
Chadwick was the artist for Harlan Ellison’s graphic novel Harlan Ellison’s 7 Against Chaos, which was published by DC Comics in 2013 (see “Harlan Ellison and Paul Chadwick“).
