Twitch has launched official Pokémon Chat Badges in partnership with The Pokémon Company International, giving viewers a limited-time collectible system featuring Pichu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Starting Aug. 24, users can earn a free Pichu badge by watching qualifying content for 20 minutes per day across three days, while new or gifted subscriptions to qualifying channels award Poké Balls that can reveal one of the three Kanto starter Pokémon after the same viewing requirement; three qualifying subscriptions guarantee the full Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle set.
Eligible categories include Pokémon games and content as well as Just Chatting, DJs, Sports, Music and Art, with progress tracked automatically through Twitch’s new Collections feature. The initial badges can be earned through Oct. 1 and will later evolve into additional badges simply by watching more qualifying content, making it important for collectors to claim the base versions during the event. Twitch will also offer two exclusive PokémonXP and 2026 Pokémon World Championships Pikachu badges from Aug. 28-30, with the PokémonXP badge requiring 60 minutes of viewing on the PokémonXP channel and the Worlds badge requiring 60 minutes across the Pokémon, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon GO or Pokémon UNITE channels.
