The latest Pokémon POKÉTOON short, “Wartortle and the Rest of Summer,” follows a boy named Rikuto who visits his grandmother’s island near the end of summer and encounters an unusual Wartortle with a moss-covered shell and a different tail coloration than shown in the Pokédex. As Rikuto spends the day playing in the water alongside wild Pokémon, he discovers that the Wartortle has been a friend of his father since childhood, connecting the Pokémon to a friendship that began 30 years earlier. The new animated short features Wartortle, Leafeon and Bellsprout and was produced by Studio Chromato and Studio Colorido, with Kana Hanazawa providing Wartortle’s voice.
