‘One Piece CG’ Card Hammers at Over $700,000; New Record Sale Prices for ‘Pokemon TCG’ Cards as Well
Goldin announced that their Summer TCG Elite Auction, which ended on August 10, 2026, raked in over $18 million in sales.
There were a series of huge sales in this auction, starting with the 2024 One Piece Chinese Year One World Championship 1st Place Monkey D. Luffy Trophy Card. This card, which comes in a 8″ by 8″ display and was a “one of” gold-embossed card given to the winner of the World Championship in China, hammered at $713,700 (includes buyers premium). This sets the record for the most expensive One Piece CG card. ever sold.
The auction also featured various Pokémon TCG cards setting records. A PSA 8 1999 Pokémon Japanese Promo Corocoro Best Photo #1 Snap Bulbasaur card went for $809,0943, which is the highest paid for any Bulbasaur card, and a PSA 8 1999 Pokémon Japanese Promo 64 Mario Stadium Best Photo #4 Snap Charmander card set a record for Charmander cards, ending at $640,500. Finally, a PSA 6 1999 Pokémon Japanese Promo 64 Mario Stadium Best Photo #7 Snap Squirtle card went for $55,100, making it the most expensive Squirtle card ever.
The significance of this particular auction, for Pokémon TCG cards, is that it pushes the potential for massive auction numbers beyond Pikachu and Charizard character cards (see ” Millions in ‘Pokemon TCG’“). In the last few years, it seemed like whenever a Pokémon TCG singles auction hammered at over $500,000, it had more than likely been a Pikachu or Charizard card that was sold. Now, some of the other Pokémon characters, which have massive fan bases, are finally realizing some astronomical singles card sales action.
