DC will publish an Absolute Edition of writer Alan Moore’s Superman stories. Superman by Alan Moore: Absolute Edition will collect “Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?” from Superman #423 and Action Comics #583, “The Jungle Line” from DC Comics Presents #85, “For the Man Who Has Everything…” from Superman Annual #11, and two that are being reprinted in a collection for the first time: “Protected Species” from The Super Heroes Annual (1984), and “I was Superman’s Double,” from Superman Official Annual (1985). The artwork by Dave Gibbons, Rick Veitch, and Curt Swan, is remastered with the original colors, and the book will include new essays by Gibbons, Veitch, Mark Waid, and John Wells, plus original art, color guides, and new art by Veitch and Ryan Sook. The 280-page, 8 1/8” x 12 1/4” hardcover will go on sale on April 20, 2027, with an MSRP of $100.
In June, DC announced DC W.I.P.: Watchmen #1, an oversized, black and white copy of the first issue of Moore and Gibbons’ series (see “DC W.I.P. Versions”).
