WotC Adds Jimothy The Raccoon To D&D As ‘Beloved Cryptid,’ Only Gives Him CR 1/4

Wizards of the Coast posted an official D&D stat block for Jimothy, the internet’s favorite raccoon/cryptid/mental health poultice.

You really have to give it to animals. Without Moo Deng or Punch the Monkey and now Jimothy the Raccoon, society would almost certainly have collapsed by now. It hasn’t. And that’s proof enough for me that existence itself, the collective creation of all the universe, loves a little guy. It might abhor a vacuum, but a little guy? Love ’em.

So of course by now Jimothy has official D&D stats. Not only that, but if you look on D&D Beyond, he’s his own Source. What a powerful aura.

Jimothy, Beloved Cryptid – Canonical D&D Creature

If you made it this far and you’re wondering “who is Jimothy?” Or maybe if you’re a fan of Internet Opthalmologists, you might be thinking, “isn’t Jimothy the one with the conscience who works for United?” Either way if you’re confused, Jimothy is a Seattle raccoon who is the universal embodiment of a weird little guy.

You might have seen him anywhere from the Google search bar to the Roku home screen recently, but videos of him just running around doing little raccoon things are everywhere. He has a round body and long legs, probably because of a spine condition (and probably because it’s scrunched from holding up our collective sanity).

We love him. Everyone loves him. If you hate Jimothy the raccoon it’s either because your soul has gone hollow from working too much for a job that is going nowhere and doesn’t care about your well-being and would replace you in a heartbeat, or your gut bacteria are out of whack and you just need a kombucha or some probiotics. Either way, I hope you get it fixed.

But Jimothy being based, and in Seattle, where D&D lives, lends itself to a natural partnership. And so without further ado, here’s Jimothy’s D&D stat block, and official art.

As you can see, he’s actually got a lot going for him. By not provoking opportunity attacks and being able to fit through narrow spaces of movement, and with a Bonus Action Skitter, Jimothy is actually a great new option for a Druid to Wild Shape into. Sadly, Jimothy is just outside of the usual range for Find Familiar (though I bet most DMs would allow it, especially if you’re a Pact of the Chain Warlock).
