A second Imperial victory over the Ork forces has secured a new Ultramarines character for the defenders.
The war for Hive Death Mire has raged for two full weeks now, and the Imperial defenders continue to achieve victory. Last week the battles for the hive’s outer walls resulted in an imperial victory at the Tempestor Victorum wall with a fighting retreat in good order. Today, we’ve learned the results have again seen the Imperial forces of Operation Imperator. Once again, the Orks have been held at bay, and the victors rewarded with the reveal of a new model to bolster their forces.
Kaius Konorius
A hero of the Ultramarines stands ready to join the defense of Armageddon. I’m sure we were all tired of the Blood Angels hogging the spotlight from the tragically underrepresented Ultramarines but Kaius Koronius is here to save the day!
Kaius fought alongside Marneus Calgar and Chaplain Cassius when all three were neophytes, and at the dawn of the Era Indomitus, he was tutoring battle‑brothers in bladework on Macragge. In the wake of his near‑fatal duel against Abaddon the Despoiler, Calgar summoned his old comrade to serve as his champion. Now, clad in armour reminiscent of the Victrix Honour Guard and armed with a pair of weapons called Severance and Rebuke, this grizzled blademaster is ready to take on all challengers.

Jokes aside, this is a pretty cool new character sculpt. The Victrix Honor Guard are one of the cooler chapter-specific units that the Ultramarines have recieved in recent years and it’s fun seeing their armor styling make a return. Veterans of the Ultramarines 1st Company, the Victrix are peerless warriors but also expert statesmen and diplomats that make their primarch, the empire builder, proud. It seems that Kaius spent time in the ranks of the Victrix himself, and wears a suit of bespoke power armor gained in his time in that service.
It seems Kaius’ sculpt will include options to build him with and without a helmet if you want to intimidate the enemy with his powerful ’70s cop ‘stache. Bearing a pair of blades named Severance and Rebuke is pretty badass, too, I’m not gonna lie.
The Battle for Death Mire Continues
The Imperial defense forces have shown great resolve so far, or at least a great ability to stuff the ballot box but the fight for Hive Death Mire is far from over. A full week remains for players to dedicate their game results to the final stage of the main campaign as the fighting now spills over into Hive Heart. . The Imperials are currently winning, but the Orks could still achieve a draw for the overall campaign if they can win the battle for Hive Heart and the ongoing secondary battle at the Gallow’s Spaceport.
If you want to take part, just login to your My Warhammer account and declare your results this week or play games at your local Warhammer shop to dedicate results for the spaceport. And of course, anyone who participates in the online results reporting has a chance to wine one of forty 1,000 point Ork and Space Marine armies!
I’m playing Blood Angels myself, but I gotta admit, even I’m rooting for an Orkish victory just to see some more cool greenskin reveals!
