
Our Q1 analysis based on ComicHub POS data from around 125 stores had comics and graphic novel sales up 23%, with graphic novels outpacing comics at 26% vs. 22% growth for comics. It’s likely that the differential is due to the fact that comics were comping against strong Absolute DC sales in Q1 2025, while graphic novels were comping against a period (Spring 2025) before Absolute graphic titles were available.
The strong comic store growth in Spring 2026 comes on top of 30% growth in comic sales and 28% growth in graphic novel sales in comic stores in 2025 (based on ICv2 analysis of ComicHub POS data), which in turn came on top of double-digit growth in 2024, kicked off by the launch of Absolute Batman.
