Plaid Hat Games will release The Monolith, a new board game, into retail on September 1, 2026.
In this game, players become shamans who are tasked with leading their warriors into battle against each other to please the monolith, an entity that has them enthralled. They will take turns spending hearts to recruit and move warriors, move their shaman, activate shaman powers, and bid on divination cards. The remaining hearts can be fed to the monolith, which gives them more combat actions. The goal of the game is to defeat other players in fast and brutal battles in an effort to be the favored shaman of the sacred stone.
The game is for three to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 120 minutes. It will retail for $99.95.
Plaid Hat Games also revealed the Super Auto Pets Card Battle expandable card dueling game at the recent GAMA Expo (see “‘Super Auto Pets Card Battle’“).
