Goatboy here and the new edition of 40K is upon us. I actually think Fulgrim, and some Flawless Blades might be good – REALLY good in 11th Edition!
The ability of Fulgrim to get -2 to hit is pretty powerful and he is just a giant jerk of model. He will be so fast, go where he wants, and probably kill something dead if he wants. There are a few fun options in the new Emperor’s Children stuff that lets you combo into Purge the Foe which can really help push the big jerks doing jerk things on the table top.
Here is an Armylist I threw together when the new 40K App updated fully for 11th. It lets me try to use Flawless Blades as they are an interesting 3 wound unit priced to move in the new edition. They also do not have to pay a Staggered Cost tax for the 3rd unit so it has me wondering if they might get a chance to work well. I went with using the 1DP detachment for them mixed with Peerless Blades to get me Purge the Foe and some fun options for the EC army.

Fulgrim’s Flawless Blades Tactics
I went with 2 Assault Defilers but you could get shooting ones if you wanted too. I just wanted to get in your face and start wrecking things. I like the whippy claw mixed with the flamer as a big jerk piece that doesn’t care about rolling to hit. It also gives me some Overwatch tech if needed as well. Plus this isn’t a ton of models and will look pretty on a display board. Oh and it gives me access to Purge the Foe which seems well suited for the style of play I like to do battle with.
The army rules let the Flawless Blades strike first and if I charge I can get Lethal hits or Sustained hits. I just like how it is a simple set of rules that lets me concentrate on getting mixed in and start wrecking the enemy. Along these lines of having a -2 to hit makes me wonder if finding other options are also fun to mess with – like your Keeper of Secrets hiding in buildings and terrain pieces.
