Reversing the usual order of things, Marvel Comics is turning a graphic novel into a comic.  Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment, by writer Roger Stern and artist Mike Mignola, was first published in 1989, in the early days of the format, and is available digitally but is apparently out of print. While the original graphic novel was printed at the larger 8-1/2″ x 11″ trim size, Marvel is bringing it back as an 88-page comic, with the standard 6-5/8″ x 10-3/16″ trim size and a new cover by Peach Momoko.  The new version, which will also have a cover by Ivan Fiorelli, will go on sale on September 2, 2026, with an MSRP of $8.99.

Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment was part of the Marvel Graphic Novel line, which was launched in 1982.  The book was reprinted in 2013 as part of a larger collection, Dr. Strange & Dr. Doom: Triumph & Torment, that also included several other stories.

Doctor Doom will headline the 64-page one-shot Doom All-on-One, due out in October 2026 (see “Preview: Doom All-on-One”).
