Goatboy here going over the top 40K Imperial mini detachments Stratagems. From Custodes to Sororitas, here’s the best strats the servants of the Emperor are bringing your way!
There is a lot to love in the new Detachments for the Imperial side. I want to talk about some of the ones that seemed good to me for each of the armies. Will see how many will get used in the end but we got a lot of stuff to think about.
Imperial Agents – you get nothing new!
Adeptus Custodes – Tharanatoi Hammerblow – 1DP
Electroexorcist Saturation – 1CP
Your Custodes grenade launchers on your Terminators get to be D3+3 hits now instead of D3. This detachment is all about using your Terminators and this is just one of the ways to punish your opponent with damage. I think this one will get used a lot just due to the Terminators pouring out some damage in shooting and charging.
Astra Militarum – Designation Force – 1DP
Triggered Alerts – 1CP
Astra Militarum Infantry get a D3+3 reactive move. Being able to react to an opponent getting near is great and it not being locked to specific infantry types is awesome. I think movement tricks are a powerful edition for AM, and if you can use this Detachment this min 4” move will be used a lot.
Adeptus Mechanicus – Luminen Auto-Choir – 1DP
Momentum Feedback – 1CP
This gives your Electro Priests a surge move of up to d6″. The ability to get more movementout of your AM is powerful and just having flexibility is great. I think you have heard me say it a ton of times any ability to give you extra movement is powerful. You just have to get within 2” to engage things and it lets you push aggressively and make the opponent pay for shooting you with only a few things.
Adeptus Sororitas – Chorus of Condemnation – 1DP
Devastating Reprise – 1CP
After shooting with an Exorcist give one of your friendly Infantry Fly units Devastating Wounds versus one of the targets hit by the Exorcists. The ability to give out some Devastating wounds is pretty dang powerful. The Sororitas detachment is all about combining your flying Infantry with Exorcists and this Strat will help you punch up.
Imperial Knights – Dominus Foebreakers – 1DP
Foebreaker Firestorm – 1CP
Select a Imperial Knight Dominus stuck in combat and remove blast from their weapons. Some short range murder bullets always solves so many issues. This detachment wants you to use the Dominus and if you are using it this one will be used. You can get your big knight mixed in and not worry about losing any of your damage potential.
