Armageddon is out for preorder now, and with it, a new edition arrives. Next week, you can also preorder the core rules!

Well, it is new edition time once again, friends. Warhammer 40K is getting ready to roll out a whole new tapestry of galactic war in the grim darkness of the distant future. If you play as Orks or Space Marines, you’ll of course have the big new Armageddon boxed set to celebrate with.

But for those who insist on playing heretics, xenos that aren’t green, or specific chapters of the Adeptus Astartes, next week’s preorders have you covered. Because next weekend is the preorder release for the new 40k core rules, plus a whole new book for Combat Patrol, and the 2026-27 Chapter Approved mission pack deck. Let’s check ’em out!

Warhammer 40K Rule Books And Mission Decks

First up, the new core rulebook. Inside you’ll find basic rules for each of the turn phases, battlefield terrain, stratagem use, and more, with a complete reference of all common unit and weapon abilities. You know, all the stuff you need to play.

If you aren’t picking up the Armageddon box, this is a handy way to get the rules close to hand for reference. Also it has an Ultramarine on the cover instead of the Blood Angel.

You can also snag a copy of the new Warhammer 40K Combat Patrol Companion. This book is all about getting started with Combat Patrol games, for those of you who don’t own decades’ worth of 40K armies and are just starting out.

Of course, if you’re getting into 40K you’re going to want Terrain. And the new Terrain Area Set comes pre-packaged and ready to go with the new terrain rules. You get 16 double-sided card terrain bases in five different shapes so you can just plunk ’em down and start playing.

Though you might be more interested in the Chapter Approved Mission Deck: 2026-27. This mission deck comes with 88 cards, enough decks for two players plus tokens and a rules pamphlet. This has everything you need to get a balanced game going.

And rounding out the rulestravaganza is the Dominatus Narrative Campaign Deck for Armageddon. This deck is your guide to linking your games together with this handy deck. Full of story events designed to be played over the course of a weekend with “streamlined rules and minimal bookkeeping” you’ll find a whole campaign’s worth of cards and narrative outcomes here.

All this, next week!
