Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon is up for pre-order now. Join us to take a closer look at the miniatures.
Armageddon is finally here! At least it is in the Bell of Lost Souls offices. It’ll be another two weeks before it’s out in the rest of the world, but we couldn’t resist diving into this pile of awesome new minis. We’re not heartless, though, so here are some pics to tide you over in the meantime.
Space Marine Intercessor Squad
The new Intercessor squad is an exciting blend of dynamic poses across relatively unornamented Primaris marines. This is a great core squad that will look fantastic in the livery of any Space Marine Chapter.
Eradicator Squad with Heavy Bolters
An all new variant of the Space Marine Eradicators. These guys eschew the melta-weaponry of the original Eradicator squad in favor of Heavy Bolters. These are an optimal choice of weaponry when confronting the endless Ork horde currently overrunning Armageddon.
Vanguard Veterans
The classic Vanguard Veterans have finally crossed the Rubicon Primaris. These all new sculpts really look the part of the elite, jump pack powered melee specialists. The unit is a fantastic mix of aggressive and dynamic sculpts.
Ancient
An all new Ancient, this version replaces the usual Company Banner with an Armageddon Campaign banner. He holds it aloft to inspire his battle-brothers. A space has been left on the sculpted banner for you to place the iconography of your choosing.
Librarian
The new Librarian is aggressively wielding his force staff. Either warding off an incoming attack or directing his potent psyker abilities towards the foe, he’s an imposing sculpt with some fantastic detailing.
Captain with Relic Shield
The latest iteration of the iconic Space Marine captain, this one is armed with a master-crafted power sword and relic shield. Standing atop the wasteland terrain of Armageddon a slain Ork’s head lays at his feet. This is just a super cool sculpt that successfully splits the difference between an action and atmosphere. He also comes with a variety of heads to choose from in addition to this crested-helm version.
Landspeeder
Another classic marine model finally getting its Primaris-era glow-up. The Landspeeder is back, baby! Bristling with weaponry it’s an awesome little kit with some great options.
Ork Boyz
The Ork Boyz haven’t been left behind this edition and have received an exceedingly cool new set of sculpots. Armed with both shootas and choppas, they’re a versatile unit full of characterful orks.
Gretchin
A unit of 10 Gretchin accompany their larger Ork brethren into battle. Each of these tiny grots can be built in a number of ways giving them a lot of character which will surely prevent them from being used as cannon fodder, right?
Painboy
Do Orks have powerful inherent regenerative properties? Sure, but that doesn’t meant they can’t benefit from the occasional check-up from an accredited medical professional. Unfortunately, they instead have to rely on a Painboy, his sharp implements, and total disregard for medical protocol.
Weirdboy
Arguably the coolest sculpt in the entire Armageddon box set, the Weird Boy is already a fan favorite. Powered by the Waaagh! itself, the Weirdboy is a potent psyker capable of decimating units both enemy and friendly alike. Hilarious.
Wartrakk
The new Wartrakk updates this venerable kit for your Kult of Speed. Armed to the teef with rokkits, blades, and bad attitude, the new Wartrakk is going to look awesome racing across your tabletop.
Big Mek Dakkarig
Okay, this thing is just rad. A gun platform that stalks the battlefield on questionable chicken legs, this thing is an amazing centerpiece model for the Orks half of the Armageddon box. It’s central bliz cannon is just dripping with Orky dakka goodness and supplemented with an array of deadly rokkits. Piloted by an insane mek, the Dakkarig is insanely cool.
Armageddon is coming for the rest of us in just two weeks time and I hope this preview has got your creative engines revving!
Are you gonna do Orks or Marines with this set? Both? Both would be pretty cool…
