Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked gets an Acquisitions Incorporated update all about fighting corporate greed.

Demeo is an absolute blast. It’s a Dungeon Crawler meant to be experienced in VR (though you can also play it regular-style), because the conceit is that you’re playing players playing a tabletop game. Right down to meeting in a virtual basement with a virtual tabletop that you move miniatures around on for that tactical dungeon crawling experience.

And today, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, the mouthful of a title that is D&D but in Demeo, gets a free new update incorporating Acquisitions Incorporated. You’ll be able to take on some questionable assignments from none other than the CEO of Acq. Inc., Omin Dran, as you get ready to delve deeper into the dungeon.

Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons Battlemarked: The Acquisitions Incorporated Update

The update is a “Standalone Adventure” meaning that once you complete it you can unlock it as a replayable adventure outside of the campaign you first encounter it in. Meaning you can keep working with Acquisitions Incorporated as long as your friends are willing.

There are five new side quests all in all as part of the update. And as you might expect, they’re full of the satire you’d expect from Acq. Inc., including riffing on corporate greed. Timely, given that later this year “premium expansions” are in the works that will cost players money to pick up.

“Meet the infamous Omin Dran, legendary CEO of Acquisitions Incorporated, played by Jerry Holkins (co-founder of Penny Arcade) from the Acquisitions Incorporated actual-play series and podcasts. Join Omin in a perilous get-rich-quick scheme filled with dangerous infiltrations, magical rituals, and highly questionable business decisions.

Standalone Adventures are side stories that exist within a Campaign. Once completed, they become permanently unlockable and replayable directly from the adventure selection screen.”

It’s just nice to be self-aware. The new update also comes with a discount of the base game, as well as a few other improvements. Notably, there’s an update to the multiplayer browser, making it easier to find games. You can filter based on things like playstyle (grinding vs. achievement hunting for instance) or difficulty.
