A lot of work went into making the Warhammer 40,000 Musical. Now we get a look at it from behind the scenes!

Games Workshop announced on April 1st that there was a Warhammer: 40,000 Musical. While I’m chalking this one up as an elaborate April Fools joke, I can’t deny that a lot of folks put in the time to make it happen. I had mentioned how I was impressed with the level of effort that was put into this previously. But now we have a closer look at just a bit of that work with the behind the scenes footage.

Again, while I still think this is a gag and I’m not a huge fan of musical to begin with, I still think this might be the most elaborate April Fools gag GW has ever done. I mean, seriously, this is a 4:46 minute mini-documentary about the behind the scenes of this musical. That’s already getting kind of meta.

Plus you can see in the video the stage production had quite a crew working on it. Aside from the crew and the actors and the costumes, there was also a professional camera crew and the director of the stage/video, too. Oh and don’t discount the prep-time before the show either. There was make-up and costumes for sure. But also the dancers had to learn the choreography.

That’s a LOT of work. Plus it seemed like they were modifying the routine to fit the show and the space, too. Now some folks might want to point and laugh at this but I’m not trying to make light of the work that was put into making this happen. Learning a dance routine isn’t easy. And if you think it looks easy, that’s actually a credit to the dancers then.

Also I wanted to give a shout out to Adam and Eddie who are clearly trying to play along with this whole thing. I appreciate their changing titles through this whole video. I also like how they were trying their best to keep a straight face. The dry delivery and serious face only broke at the end. Well done.

Honestly, at this point, I’m going to be a little disappointed if the three songs don’t get video release or something. You know they have the footage for it!

Not joking here: You have to respect the effort on this one.
