Asmodee announced that Netflix has optioned the global rights to the Ticket to Ride board game series.
The agreement between Asmodee and Netflix covers scripted and unscripted rights across feature films, TV series, and other formats for Ticket to Ride. The first project slated to go into development under this agreement is a feature film. This film will be written by Ben Mekler and Chris Amick, and produced by Darren Kyman from Asmodee; Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum from The Tannenbaum Company and Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer for Megamix.
“Just when I thought life couldn’t get more exciting, Ticket to Ride is teaming up with Netflix,” said Alan R. Moon, creator of Ticket to Ride. “I can’t wait to help bring these exciting projects to the millions of fans of the game.”
Alan R. Moon will serve as an executive producer on the film projects for Asmodee. Netflix also recently licensed Catan from Asmodee for film development (see “Netflix Gets ‘Catan’“).
