Universal Distribution has released a list of 24 comic titles, from 14 publishers, for Free Comic Book Day 2026. No cover art or other information was released. DC announced its Free Comic Book Day titles, also listed below, and released cover images yesterday (see “DC FCBD“).
Universal announced its plans for Free Comic Book Day last month (see “Universal Announces“). Those plans included game company participation; none were listed in this info drop. Universal acquired the Free Comic Book Day brand and assets from Sparkle Pop, which bought the comic and merch-related assets of Diamond Comic Distributors (see “Universal Acquired“).
Penguin Random House Publisher Services is not participating in Free Comic Book Day; instead, it launched a parallel event on the same day (see “Not-FCBD Titles Announced“). It announced 21 titles from 11 publishers, seven of which were not owned by PRH.
