Pegasus Spiele will release Boss Fighters QR, a new app-supported family game by Spiel des Jahres designers Lukas Zach and Michael Palm, who designed Pegasus Spiele’s Dorfromantik (see “Spiel des Jahres 2023 Winners“).

Boss Fighters QR is a hybrid boss battle game in which an app reads QR codes to recognize the actions of players and let the boss respond accordingly.  Players each choose a hero deck from jungle troll, hill halfling, copper dwarf, or wood elf and combine with one of the four class decks: warrior, mage, rogue, or druid.  The app will recognize these cards via QR codes and enable interation between deck buildinmng and exciting boss battles.

The app also includes an introductory tutorial to teach the game and will track the group’s possessions throughout the game. Bosses come in four difficulty levels, from Beginners, for families and new players, to Insane, challenging for even the most experienced gamer.  Depending on the level, bosses get more health points, better armor, and new tactics and abilities.  Players that defeat a boss get loot cards that can upgrade their decks.  The app is available free in Android and iOS versions.

Boss Fighters QR is for two to four players ages 10 and up and plays in 40-60 minutes.  It will be released in November at $49.99 MSRP.
