Legend Story Studios announced the Silver Age (SAGE) Constructed Format, a new, more affordable constructed format for Flesh and Blood TCG.
One of the long-standing issues of Flesh and Blood TCG has been the financial barrier to entry for new players created by the outrageous cost of building Classic Constructed and certain Blitz decks. The biggest issue with Flesh and Blood TCG for players has always been the cost associated with outfitting heroes with weapons and equipment that were predominantly Legendary cards; equipping a hero for one Classic Constructed deck could cost a player anywhere from $200 to $1,000 in singles card purchases (depending on the character’s class), and that cost only covers about 10 cards of the deck.
While this was all well and good for collectors, who enjoyed seeking value in their TCG purchases, it made fielding more than one deck in Classic Constructed fairly expensive. The cost of getting the cards to build constructed decks inherently limited the growth of the game as the “have-nots” didn’t have the money to build decks to compete and win in higher-level money events (the Pro Tour was one of the main incentives to play the game competitively in the first place).
The creation of the Silver Age or SAGE format aims at addressing this problem. Much in the same vein as Magic’s Pauper format, the SAGE format restricts decks to only including Common, Rare, and Basic cards. This will inherently make decks cheaper to build and allow budget-conscious players to get into the game.
The SAGE format will be backed up by the $2 million Flesh and Blood World Tour competitive circuit; players will have a direct path to get on the World Tour by competing in local premier events. LSS also announced 10 Silver Age Preconstructed Decks coming to market, which will be available in two collections.
Chapter 1 of the new collection includes the following heroes: Kayo, Iyslander, Viserai, Bravo, Flattering Showman and Dash. Chapter 2 of the collection includes Azalea, Dorinthea, Fai, Enigma, and Arakni, Web of Deceit. Each deck comes with a booster pack from Set 18 and retails for $19.99. These decks will premiere on February 6, 2026 at an event in London, and then head to retail on February 13, 2026.
Legend Story Studios also recently released Mastery Pack Guardian, a supplementary booster set for Flesh and Blood TCG, into retail (see “‘Flesh and Blood: Mastery Pack Guardian’“).
