Board & Dice announced a two-player version of 2024’s Windmill Valley.  Titled Windmill Valley:  Duel, it is scheduled to release in October.

Like the original game (see “Board & Dice Sets Up ‘Windmill Valley’”), Windmill Valley: Duel takes its inspiration from the famous tulip craze of the 19th Century. Players compete to operate tulip farms and expand them by constructing windmills to reclaim land from the sea.

This two-player version of the game replaces the individual player boards with a single shared board, so that each action a player takes directly affects both players through the game’s interlocking action selection wheels.  Shared tulip fields and foreign trade ships also generate competition on the ever-changing game board.

Windmill Valley: Duel was designed by the creator of Windmill Valley, Dani Garcia (also known for Barcelona and Arborea, among others).  The game includes a game board, central wheel and wheel base tile, 2 player wheels, 3 plastic pins, 61 tiles, 20 cards, 125 tulip bulb tokens, 20 Guilder coins, 14 tools, 8 windmills, 1 calendar marker, and 1 boat.  Intended for two players, ages 14 and up, it takes about 45 minutes to play.  MSRP is $40.00.

This summer, the company is releasing Maestro, a game about the competition between Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo (see “Board & Dice Channels Great Masters in ‘Maestro’“).
