Dark Horse Comics has announced two more archival collections of Marvel Comics comic books: Marvel Villains: Magneto and The Best of Marvel’s Vampire Tales, Volume One.
Marvel Villains: Magneto is the first of a planned series of collections focusing on the bad guys of the Marvel Universe and will include classic stories that appeared between 1963 and 2003, pitting the character against the X-Men, the Avengers, Thor, and other Marvel heroes. The 376-page, 7.5″ x 11″ hardcover volume will contain stories by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas and Neal Adams, writer Chris Claremont and artists Dave Cockrum, John Byrne, Brent Eric Anderson, John Bolton, Butch Guice, John Romita Jr., and Jim Lee, alongside essays by comics historians, scans of original artwork, covers, and more. The book will be released in all channels on October 6, 2026, with an MSRP of $65.00.
The Best of Marvel’s Vampire Tales, Volume One, is a selection of stories from Vampire Tales, a black and white magazine launched by Marvel’s sister company Magazine Management in 1973. Because it was technically not a comic book, Vampire Tales was not subject to the restrictions of the Comics Code Authority and could publish more adult content. The 360-page, 8.375×10.875” hardcover will include almost 300 pages of comics stories by Alfredo Alcala, Rich Buckler, Ernie Chan, Chris Claremont, Gerry Conway, Bill Everett, Gardner Fox, Steve Gerber, Carmine Infantino, Tony Isabella, Gil Kane, Stan Lee, Don McGregor, Pablo Marcos, Esteban Maroto, Doug Moench, Tom Palmer, John Romita, Jim Steranko, Tom Sutton, Roy Thomas, and Marv Wolfman, featuring Morbius, Blade, and Lilith, as well as the early stories about Satana, the Devil’s Daughter. The book is the first of a planned series of archival collections of obscure Marvel horror and will be released on August 18 with an MSRP of $65.00.
Dark Horse will release another Marvel collection, Marvel’s Mightiest Monsters, on October 13 (see “Dark Horse to Collect Classic Marvel Monster Tales in Deluxe Hardcover”).
