Z2 has announced a graphic novel adaptation of the feature film …And Out Comes the Wolf, which is inspired by the album …And Out Come the Wolves by the punk band Rancid.  The story of two best friends is set in the gritty East Bay punk scene of the 1990s, a milieu familiar to Rancid, which was formed in 1991 in Berkeley, California.  Artist and writer Kevin Mellon is doing the graphic adaptation from the script by the Neese Twins, who are the co-executive producers of the Netflix adaptation of The Umbrella Academy, and filmmaker Danny Peykoff, whose Big Newport Films is the producer of the film …And Out Comes the Wolf.  The 100-page graphic novel, also titled …And Out Comes the Wolf, will be released in spring 2026 as a slipcase hardcover with art prints and other extras, available only from the Z2 website, and in fall 2026 as a standard edition available from all retailers.  The graphic novel will have several variant covers by artist Travis Knight.

The film will be released to the festival circuit during spring and summer 2026.

Mellon is the co-creator, with Dennis Hopeless, of Gearhead (see “‘Gearhead’ Goes to Valhalla”), and he was also an artist for S.H.I.E.L.D. (see “‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Omnibus”).
