Official Pokémon TCG Pocket strategy revealed featuring Meowscarada and Beedrill ex cards

The Pokémon Company is continuing to reveal new content for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Read on below to learn more:

For its next trick, the Magician Pokémon will pair up with Beedrill ex to make powerful opponents disappear.

While many powerful Pokémon debuted in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s Shining Revelry expansion, one in particular is rising to stardom—Meowscarada. In this deck, the Magician Pokémon teams up with an unlikely partner, Beedrill ex, to create a strategy that dishes out massive damage while also giving you a chance to prevent your opponents from building up enough Energy to strike back.

2× Sprigatito (Shining Revelry)
2× Floragato (Shining Revelry
2× Meowscarada (Shining Revelry
1× Weedle (Genetic Apex: Mewtwo
1× Kakuna (Shining Revelry
1× Beedrill ex (Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga
2× Professor’s Research (Promo)
2× Erika (Genetic Apex: Charizard
2× Red (Shining Revelry)
1× Team Rocket Grunt (Shining Revelry
2× Poké Ball (Promo)
1× Pokémon Communication (Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga
1× Giant Cape (Space-Time Smackdown: Dialga)

Game plan: Your priority with this deck is to evolve both copies of Sprigatito into Meowscarada as soon as possible. Once Meowscarada is on the field, Fighting Claws can deal 130 damage to your opponent’s Pokémon ex—150 with help from Red—which is enough to take down many of them (including the previously featured Giratina ex—provided it isn’t wearing a Giant Cape) for a comparatively inexpensive cost of two GrassGrass Energy.

It might go without saying, but Red is a key Supporter in this deck’s strategy. The Pokémon included in this strategy don’t have much HP, so scoring two points by Knocking Out a Pokémon ex with the combination of Red and Meowscarada is crucial. Having the opportunity to run Erika is a boon in this all Grass-type deck, too—her powerful healing may help your Pokémon survive an opponent’s next attack.

Meowscarada and Beedrill ex are both Stage 2 Pokémon, which makes quickly getting either of them onto the battlefield a bit of a challenge. This deck has multiple ways to accelerate that process between Item cards, Supporter cards, and Pokémon. Sprigatito can lend a hand early on—for one Grass Energy, Cry for Help places a random Grass Pokémon from your deck into your hand. You can use Poké Ball items to put Basic Pokémon into your hand, and Professor’s Research may help you draw Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokémon. If you don’t draw what you need, playing Pokémon Communication lets you choose a Pokémon in your hand to switch it with one in your deck.

Beedrill ex primarily acts as a late-game Pokémon for this deck, though it has a unique benefit. For two Grass Energy, Crushing Spear does 80 damage and discards a random Energy from your opponent’s Active Pokémon. This synergizes very well with Team Rocket Grunt, which allows you to flip a coin until you get tails and discard random Energy from your opponent’s Active Pokémon for each heads. The two in tandem can help prevent your opponent’s Active Pokémon from making major attacks.

Whether you’re taking advantage of Meowscarada’s Fighting Claws or stalling opponents with Beedrill ex and Team Rocket Grunt, we hope you have fun giving this deck a try for your next battle!
