Monolith Board Games has launched Conan: The Hyborian Age – The Roleplaying Game on Kickstarter, offering fans of Robert E. Howard’s iconic character a new way to explore the world of Hyboria.
Set during the reign of King Conan in Aquilonia, the game invites players to take on the roles of adventurers navigating dangerous landscapes filled with temples, tombs, deserts, and forests, all while facing off against the horrors and enemies that lurk within.
Conan: The Hyborian Age focuses on fast-paced, high-adventure gameplay with a strong emphasis on heroic action, swordplay, and sorcery. The game uses a straightforward system designed to keep the focus on the story. The themes of the game are true to the original Conan stories, centering on bold conflict, dramatic moments, and the perilous world of Hyboria.
The game offers cross-play with Monolith’s Conan board game, allowing those who already own it to use its miniatures, maps, and other components. However, the RPG is fully functional on its own, with no requirement for additional accessories.
The Kickstarter campaign includes the core rulebook, which contains everything players need to get started in the world of Conan, as well as two volumes of “Tales,” providing pre-written adventures that Game Masters can use to guide their players through exciting campaigns.
The campaign offers several pledge tiers and add-ons, allowing backers to choose from digital or physical versions of the game. With the campaign already funded, more stretch goals are expected to be unlocked as the campaign progresses.
Conan: The Hyborian Age – The Roleplaying Game Kickstarter campaign ends on November 5, 2024. It has raised $105,033 from 691 backers so far, surpassing its initial goal of $65,379.
