Two-step with the leader of the Pearl Clan and her newest partner Pokémon, Hisuian Zoroark.
Dance-loving Trainers are hosting an event to welcome the Frontier Brain Dahlia to Pasio. While seeking more participants, Tierno, Fantina, and friends come across Adaman and Irida struggling to deepen their bond with their new Pokémon partners. At the dancers’ urging, the Diamond Clan and Pearl Clan leaders don stylish new outfits and attempt to connect with the hearts of their new Pokémon through dance. Find out how these Trainers from long ago step into the modern era during Costume Event: The Power of Dance.
Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark are a Ghost-type strike sync pair who have a useful habit of pulling off attacks without draining the move gauge! Their Hit: Free Move Next/Special Boost ↑1 passive skill applies the Free Move Next effect to themselves or increases their Special Moves ↑ Next effect by one rank when their attack is successful.
Their Trainer move Battle from the Heart! raises Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s Sp. Atk and evasiveness by four stat ranks and also applies the Free Move Next effect to themselves. That evasiveness boost proves quite useful when combined with their Blind Spot passive skill, which powers up the pair’s sync move every time their evasiveness increases.
Their Attack Trap 9 passive skill—which leaves the target trapped when one of Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s attacks is successful—works in conjunction with their Mystifying Bitter Malice buddy move. Mystifying Bitter Malice becomes twice as powerful when used against targets that are affected by a status condition, flinching, confused, or—yes, you guessed it—trapped, while also lowering the target’s Attack by four stat ranks and making the target flinch. Just be aware that Mystifying Bitter Malice can only be used after your team has used three moves in total.
For more details on Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s passive skills and moves, check out their in-game sync pair scout screen. Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark are available to scout from March 15, 2024, at 11:00 p.m. PDT to April 2, 2024, at 10:59 p.m. PDT.
Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina
If you’re a dedicated Sinnoh fan, this team-up is one of the strongest you can have. Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina can set up a Ghost Zone, which powers up Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s Ghost-type moves. Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina’s Sundering 9 passive skill can increase Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark’s impact, too—each time Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina successfully land a move, either their target’s Defense or Sp. Def will be lowered by one rank.
Another key synergy to keep in mind is that both sync pairs share the Sinnoh theme skill, which increases the bonuses from Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina’s Sinnoh Flag Bearer passive skill. Sinnoh Flag Bearer powers up the moves of all allied sync pairs by 10 percent and reduces damaged taken from attack moves by 20 percent. Each additional sync pair with the Sinnoh theme skill further powers up moves by 10 percent and reduces damage taken by three percent.
Sygna Suit Cynthia (Renegade) & Giratina are not currently available to scout, though they may return in the future!
Sygna Suit Elesa & Rotom
Irida (Special Costume) & Zoroark can hit the ground running with their Trainer move, Battle from the Heart!, but they need extra support maxing out their Sp. Atk stat to deal the most damage. Sygna Suit Elesa & Rotom can easily raise all allies’ Sp. Atk by two stat ranks with a single use of X Sp. Atk All. This Electric-type sync pair from the Unova region can also play the evasion game thanks to their Look Alike 9 passive skill—try seeing how many moves you can dodge with both these sync pairs on the same team!
Sygna Suit Elesa & Rotom are available to scout from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and 5★-Guaranteed Unova Ticket Scout.
See you on the dance floor, Trainers!
