Kinson Key Games has initiated a Kickstarter campaign for its new board game, “Galactic Cruise,” which has quickly surpassed its funding goal. The campaign has raised US$ 303,258, significantly exceeding the initial target of US$ 50,000. With 29 days left and 2,596 backers, the project is shaping up to be a notable success.
“Galactic Cruise” introduces players to a unique game setting where they manage a space travel company offering luxury vacations beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. Players take on the roles of company supervisors, tasked with building and launching shuttles to cater to guests seeking extraordinary space experiences.
The game incorporates euro-style mechanics, requiring players to strategically place workers to perform various actions. These include acquiring blueprints for shuttles, constructing these shuttles, attracting guests, and creating developments that connect locations for expanded action options. Player decisions influence resource markets within the game, reflecting the interconnectedness of actions in a competitive environment.
A distinctive feature of “Galactic Cruise” is the launch of shuttles, where players’ workers pilot the shuttles to destinations, earning rewards based on their performance. The game also introduces company goals, completion of which grants players progress cubes. These cubes are critical for advancing on the company’s progress track, and the accumulation of a specified number triggers the game’s conclusion. The player with the most Victory Points at this point is declared the new CEO of Galactic Cruise.
